Connect AssistFlow CRM to Cursor IDE with MCP

Time: ~3 minutes · Technical level: Low · Cost: Free

This guide will connect your AssistFlow account to Cursor IDE via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once connected, you can use natural language commands in Cursor's Composer/Agent panel like "list 10 dental sector leads assigned to me in Istanbul that I haven't called today".

What is MCP and why does it matter?

The Model Context Protocol, opened by Anthropic in November 2024, is an open standard that allows AI clients (Cursor, Claude Desktop, Continue, Cline, etc.) to connect to external systems in a standardized way. AssistFlow's MCP server is fully compliant — so the same tools work in any MCP-compatible client.

Prerequisites

1. Create a personal API token

  1. Go to Settings → API Tokens (must be logged in).
  2. Click "New Token" in the upper right.
  3. Give it a memorable name: "My Cursor IDE — work laptop"
  4. The token is shown only once. Copy it immediately and store it somewhere safe (1Password, KeePass, etc).

Token format: 47 characters starting with asf_.

⚠️ Security: Never commit the token to GitHub, never email it, never show it in screen sharing. If you suspect it's leaked, revoke it immediately from Settings → API Tokens — it goes inactive within seconds.

2. Test that the token works

Before plugging it into Cursor, it's a good habit to verify the token via PowerShell or curl.

PowerShell (Windows):

$token = "asf_PASTE_YOUR_TOKEN"
$body  = '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"}'
Invoke-RestMethod -Method Post `
  -Uri "https://fhauzjsujvoodywfwuvz.supabase.co/functions/v1/mcp-server" `
  -Headers @{ Authorization = "Bearer $token"; "Content-Type" = "application/json" } `
  -Body $body | ConvertTo-Json -Depth 6

curl (macOS/Linux/WSL):

curl -X POST https://fhauzjsujvoodywfwuvz.supabase.co/functions/v1/mcp-server \\
  -H "Authorization: Bearer asf_PASTE_YOUR_TOKEN" \\
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \\
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"}' | jq

The response should list 10 tools: list_my_leads, get_lead, create_ticket, get_call_transcript and others. If no response comes, the token is invalid, expired, or revoked.

3. Edit Cursor's mcp.json

In Cursor IDE, open Settings → Cursor Settings → MCP, or edit the file directly:

Create the file if it doesn't exist. Add the assistflow key to the existing mcpServers block:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "assistflow": {
      "url": "https://fhauzjsujvoodywfwuvz.supabase.co/functions/v1/mcp-server",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer asf_PASTE_YOUR_TOKEN_HERE"
      }
    }
  }
}

4. Restart Cursor

Fully quit and reopen Cursor. Open the Composer / Chat panel — under "Tools" or "MCP servers", you should see the assistflow server with all 10 tools listed.

5. Start using natural language

You can now write commands like these in Cursor Composer:

Cursor automatically picks the right tool and writes the result directly into the editor. No tab switching, no AssistFlow panel — your entire CRM in your IDE.

What tools are available?

Same 10 tools as the Turkish version above: list_my_leads, get_lead, update_lead_status, add_lead_note, get_call_transcript, list_my_tickets, create_ticket, plus admin-only get_drip_health, pause_drip, resume_drip.

FAQ

Who sees what?

Lead/ticket/call tools work for everyone (including sales reps) — but thanks to AssistFlow's Row Level Security (RLS) policies, each user sees only their own assigned records. Drip management tools are admin-scoped.

What if my token gets stolen?

Revoke it immediately from Settings → API Tokens. It goes inactive within seconds. You can also see use_count and last_used_at columns to track activity.

Cursor only?

No. Any MCP-compatible client works: Cursor, Claude Desktop, Continue, Cline and others. Same URL and token, just different config file.

Any extra cost?

No. Anyone with an AssistFlow subscription can create unlimited tokens for free.
